LET ME LIVE AND I WILL LOVE YOU FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE

This body of work is concerned with the question of how to approach, tell, and destroy narratives of bodily trauma. Initially informed by the literary approach to trauma theory and driven by autobiographical or para-fictional allusions, the quilt-referential sculptures rely heavily on imagery and material to examine place and histories. What does it mean to make work about sexual violence right now, as the infrastructure of surveillance and detention that the USA relies upon is re-stratified by our commander-in-chief, a sexually violent man?

In the show I included works by artists Jetaime Pizarro and Victoria Villier.
